Reframing Psychosis Spectrum Experiences
A full online course and collaborative workbook for people who hear voices
Introduction
I’m thrilled to share Reframing Psychosis Spectrum Experiences, an innovative online course and an upcoming collaborative workbook created by Jeannie Bass and Carina A. Iati, Psy.D.
This work bridges lived experience and clinical practice to transform how professionals, supporters, and systems engage with people who hear voices (often labeled auditory hallucinations).
The Course — Now Available
Reframing Psychosis Spectrum Experiences is a first-of-its-kind online course that bridges clinical understanding and lived experience. Through immersive simulations drawn from real-life voice-hearing experiences, learners explore the full range of psychosis spectrum experiences related to hearing voices — from supportive or neutral to deeply distressing.
The course introduces human-experience approaches to psychosis, including the Hearing Voices Movement, and centers curiosity, collaboration, and relational safety over symptom reduction alone.
Designed for clinicians, peer specialists, direct care workers, students, researchers, family members, and non-mental-health professionals alike, the course offers practical, accessible tools for compassionate, person-centered care.

The Workbook — Coming March 31, 2026
Reframing Psychosis Spectrum Experiences: A Collaborative Workbook for Hearing Voices expands on the course’s reflective and practical learning.
Grounded in the values of the International Hearing Voices Movement and informed by trauma-informed, recovery-oriented principles, the workbook supports people who hear voices and their supporters in moving toward meaning-making, connection, and empowerment.
Designed for flexibility, the workbook can be used with a clinician, peer specialist, family member, other supporters, or independently by voice hearer. Topics include voice dialogue, relational safety, coping strategies, family support, and working with command voices.
