Individual Peer Support
As someone who’s been given a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, I know there can be comfort and relief in having a name for our struggle. For others, it’s equally valid — there can also be grief and trauma in being labeled with a ‘mental illness.’ I want to support people who feel both. I understand how isolating and confusing unique ways of experiencing reality can be. It breeds isolation and can make you believe no one could possibly understand or relate. You are not alone.
In our work together, we’ll create a space where you are met with curiosity, not judgment. We can explore targeted strategies like voice dialoguing, mapping your internal world, setting boundaries with unique experiences, and uncovering the meaning behind them. Our work might also include self-advocacy, navigating relationship challenges, school or work aspirations, or identity exploration. This is your space — we’ll follow what feels most useful to you.
My support blends the Intentional Peer Support framework, collaborative approaches, and lived wisdom. It’s non-pathologizing and driven by the freedom to self-define your life — whether you see your experiences as part of an illness, a spiritual awakening, trauma, a stress response, or something else entirely, we’ll honor your worldview.
I’m also a Certified Spiritual Emergence Coach, trained by Dr. Emma Bragdon through Integrative Mental Health for You. If you understand your experiences through a spiritual or transformative lens, we can explore how to integrate those understandings in a grounded way. Together, we can explore spiritual tools and healing practices that feel authentic to you.
I believe healing happens through genuine connection and relationships that hold space for unlimited possibility.
"There simply is no pill that can replace human connection. There is no pharmacy that can fill the needs for compassionate interaction with others. There is no panacea. The answer to human suffering is both within us and between us"
- Dr Joanne Cacciatore
