Peer Supervision
I’ve been in peer support since 2011, working in community settings and clinical mental health systems. I bring years of experience building and leading peer support teams in complex systems.
I know firsthand how powerful, vulnerable, and sometimes challenging this role can be — and how important it is to feel supported while doing it. My supervision honors each peer specialist’s lived experience and the selfless intentionality it takes to share your story in service of others.
Together, we build skills to stay “in but not of” the system, protect peer values and ethics, and navigate workplace dynamics that can test those boundaries. I help peer specialists strengthen working relationships, balance team roles with the unique independence of the peer perspective, and find practical strategies for burnout, self-care, and sustainability. I also mentor new peer specialists to understand the heart of the role, gain confidence, and develop tools to teach advocacy, navigate relationships with clinical disciplines, and support others with unique experiences.
My supervision blends mutual support, the Intentional Peer Support (IPS) co-reflection framework, coaching, and the power of our stories for connection. There’s no substitute for peer-to-peer supervision. When peer specialists feel supported and clear in their purpose, they’re better able to bring that same mutual support to the people they walk beside.
“Some people, when they hear your story, contract. Others, upon hearing your story, expand. And this is how you know.”
